About eXperiBot

eXperiBot is the learning robot for school lessons. It impresses with its simplicity, step-by-step logic, and focus on the essentials. Quick and easy to assemble, it can be used in schools starting from third grade onwards with specially developed apps and context-related teaching materials.

eXperiBot Explorer

The eXperiBot Explorer offers the perfect introduction to programming and robotics. Thanks to its compact design, the eXperiBot Explorer can be assembled and is ready to use in no time. It supports students individually or in small learning groups as they learn basic programming concepts. The eXperiBot Explorer can be purchased individually or as a set of four.

Programming

The eXperiBot Explorer is programmed with the eXperiBot Blockly app using programming blocks—graphically via drag-and-drop. The program code can also be displayed in the Python programming language.

Teaching materials

A wide range of specially developed teaching materials is available for the eXperiBot Explorer. The eXperiBot Blockly app seamlessly integrates lessons for students, who can access and work on them at any time. All lessons are available in two different work methods.

eXperiBot Smart Team

The eXperiBot Smart Team is an innovative educational robot set for computer science lessons. Through three realistic and interactive scenarios—Smart Factory, Smart Recycling, and Smart Farming—the eXperiBot Smart Team teaches essential digital and social skills. The set includes a high-quality play mat, which is used for all scenarios.

In eXperiBot Smart Team, four teams of learners build and program four cooperating eXperiBots for each scenario. Each eXperiBot must perform their individual tasks on their respective part of the play mat. The goal is for all four robots to form a team and lead the factory, recycling plant, or farm to success. Programming the eXperiBot Smart Team trains far more than just digital skills. Critical thinking, creative solution finding, genuine cooperation, and communication are prerequisites for all robots to perform their respective tasks and for learners to achieve their goals together.

The difficulty level of the various scenarios in the eXperiBot Smart Team can be individually customized. Each scenario is composed of four different eXperiBots of varying difficulty. Educators can assign learners to these eXperiBots according to their competency level. The teaching materials also offer opportunities for classroom differentiation to support every student on their level.

The eXperiBot Smart Team Set can be used to build up to four eXperiBot Explorers. Therefore, all eXperiBot Explorer teaching materials can also be used with the eXperiBot Smart Set.

eXperiBot for primary schools

Primary schools also have the opportunity to work with eXperiBot. The “Wayfinder” product was developed specifically for this purpose.

In “Wayfinder”, the eXperiBot must navigate from start to finish on a play mat using simple step-by-step programming. In addition to computational thinking, this playfully promotes students’ spatial awareness and orientation. “Wayfinder” does not require reading skills.

“Wayfinder” also allows the learning experience to be personalized with the leading characters from Cornelsen’s elementary school textbooks. Both the eXperiBot itself and the accompanying app can be easily personalized with Jo-Jo, Einstern, and friends.

“Wayfinder” includes a full-featured eXperiBot Explorer. This means that both the eXperiBot Blockly app and all Explorer lessons can be used with this product.

Programming

The eXperiBot can be programmed in with the eXperiBot Kids app using programming blocks—graphically via drag-and-drop.

Unlike other eXperiBot apps, the eXperiBot Kids app stands out for its simplicity. It provides students with few programming blocks that do not contain any words. Functionality aimed at teachers that could potentially overwhelm elementary school children can be optionally protected with a child-friendly warning message.

Teaching materials

The “Wayfinder” product can be used with task cards that cover German curriculum topics of digital technology and spatial orientation.

In addition to specific programming suggestions, the task cards also include instructions for the eXperiBot educational robot and can be downloaded free of charge.

The “Wayfinder” task cards are currently only available in German.
